(NORTH CANTON, Ohio) – Both teams have already punched their ticket to the postseason, but there will still be plenty on the line when Lake Erie travels to Walsh on Thursday night at 7:30. The Storm (16-10, 11-7) enter as the sixth-place team in the G-MAC, while the Cavaliers (20-7, 15-4) are currently second.
It's the 26th meeting all-time between the two schools separated by approximately 75 miles. The series began back in the 1988-89 season in the early years of the Storm program. Despite dominance early in the rivalry by the Cavaliers, the Storm have seen a resurgence as of late. The first win in the series for the Green and White came in the 2013-14 season. Lake Erie has also won the last four including a 68-63 victory earlier this year.
Two of the G-MAC's top scorers will be featured in this game as Gabe Kynard leads the Storm with 18.5 points per outing. That mark ranks third in the conference with Walsh's JT Shumate No. 2 at 19.0 points per game.
It's the season finale for the Cavaliers, but the Storm will play one more before Tuesday's playoff game as they head to Malone for the regular season finale Saturday.
