(PORTSMOUTH, Ohio) – The 2018 calendar year will close out with Lake Erie heading south to battle Shawnee State in a non-conference clash. The Storm are looking to break at three-game skid and are 6-6 on the season, while the Bears enter as winners of their last two with a 7-4 record.
While the two teams originally met for the first time back in 1989, they are somewhat unfamiliar with each other as they have only played four times since. Both teams have secured two wins with the Storm getting an equalizer last season by a 71-61 decision at home on December 9.
This is also the final game of five consecutive games on the road for the Storm, who haven't played at home since the first of the month.
Gabe Kynard leads the Lake Erie offense with 17.4 points per game, currently fifth in the G-MAC. Shawnee State counters with Justin Johnson who averages 11.5.
