PAINESVILLE, Ohio – The Lake Erie College men's basketball team will be in action Thursday (Jan. 4) at 5:30 p.m. and Saturday (Jan. 6) at 1 p.m. The Storm will battle with Hillsdale on Thursday and Findlay and Saturday.
Storm Report: The Storm is 9-4 overall and 4-1 in Great Midwest Athletic Conference action. The Storm is coming off a win over Trevecca Nazarene. Head Coach Kyle Conley said, "Our team has great respect for Hillsdale and Findlay, both programs have been consistent winners at the NCAA Division-II level for some time. Because of our programs improvement these two games have significance in our conference standings, and we are excited about the challenge this week presents."
Opposition Position: The Chargers are 12-3 overall and 6-2 in conference play, and are coming off a loss to Alderson Broaddus. The Oilers are 15-2 and a perfect 9-0 in the conference, and are ranked 21st in the country. Coach Conley added, "Hillsdale and Findlay are both extremely well coached and their rosters are full of talented veteran players. The two teams are similar in that each is incredibly efficient on offense and hardnosed on the defensive end."
Coach Conley concluded, "We must value the basketball and execute on offense and maintain the level of focus, effort and toughness that is required to beat teams of this caliber."
Forecast: Lake Erie will return to the hardwood Thursday (Jan. 11) when they travel to take on Malone, with the game set to tip at 6 p.m.
