PAINESVILLE, Ohio- The Lake Erie College men's basketball team will renew a rivalry with local Division II school, the Notre Dame College Falcons on Monday (Nov. 28) as the Storm gears up for conference play.
Storm Warning: Lake Erie is looking for win number one on the season as the Storm dropped two games at the 33rd Gary Miller Classic, hosted by Gannon University. Sean Howard (Indianapolis, Ind. / Lawrence North) scored 21 points in the opening 83-77 loss to Gannon. Playing in the consolation game against Malone, Howard scored 23 points as Lake Erie couldn't rebound from a 21 point deficit. Malone won the 3rd place game 83-71.
Opposition Position: Notre Dame enters the matchup with a 3-2 overall record. In their last game, the Falcons fell to #7 Wheeling Jesuit 83-74 at home. Notre Dame is 0-2 in the Mountain East Conference. Will Vorhees leads the team with 23.6 points per game.
Six Game Slide: The Storm's current six game losing streak is the first streak of six games since the 2013-14 season, where the Storm had two skids of six straight losses.
Series History: Since the 2008-09 season, Notre Dame and Lake Erie have faced off three times. Lake Erie leads the series 2-1, with all three matchups taking place at Notre Dame. Last season, the Storm fell 90-87. Trey Howard had 21 points while Sean Howard added 16 points.
Storm Forecast: The Storm will open their final season of GLIAC play with a roadtrip to Wayne State and Saginaw Valley State this weekend.
