The Lake Erie College men's basketball team travels to Tiffin University and Ohio Dominican University for a pair of Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) South Division games.
"The GLIAC this season in men's basketball is as strong as most coaches can remember from the top to the bottom and Tiffin and Ohio Dominican University's teams both reflect the strength of the GLIAC," said Storm Head Coach Cliff Hunt. "We are one game behind Tiffin in the standings for fourth in the South and we are tied with Ohio Dominican so these games are important to us for our final finish in the conference in the regular season. In our home game vs. Tiffin we lost by one on a last second shot and we really want to redeem ourselves in that game. They are very athletic and have great size in the front court so it will be another tough game. ODU has played really well at home with a 7-3 record and they had a great win over Walsh last week so they offer another big challenge for us to finish this season the way we want to."
LAST TIME OUT: The Storm prevailed in overtime against the University of Findlay Oilers 81-67 last weekend (Feb. 16). Trey Howard finished with 17 points and four rebounds. He went seven-of-seven from the free-throw line. Andy Bosley scored 15 points to go with a team-high nine rebounds. He went eight-of-eight from the free-throw line. Sean Howard scored 14 points with three rebounds. Roy Alexander was also in double-digits with 12 points. Nick Wells scored eight points to go with his seven rebounds. Michael Morris finished with seven points.
SERIES HISTORY: The Storm is 4-7 all-time against the Dragons, falling to them in a close game, 64-63, earlier this season. Against the Panthers, the Storm is 9-4 all-time. They defeated them 97-84 in Painesville earlier this season.
OPPOSITION POSITION: The Dragons have an 11-15 overall record and a 7-12 mark in GLIAC play. They are coming off of a loss at Walsh University last Saturday. Offensively, they are led by Tony Kynard, who averages 16.3 points per game. The Panthers host Ashland University before the Storm head to Columbus. They are 9-16 on the season with a 6-13 GLIAC mark. The Panthers fell to the Pioneers in their most recent outing. They are led by Trent Weaver, who averages 15.2 points per game.
FORECAST: The Storm will be back in action for their season finale at Ashland University on Feb. 25.
