HOME COOKIN' FOR LAKE ERIE: The Lake Erie men's basketball team will try to snap a four-game losing streak when it hosts Ashland University. Prior to the slide, Lake Erie had won seven of eight games dating back to last season. The Storm is in search of the first GLIAC win in program history in their first year as a conference member and are 2-0 at home so far this season, with wins over NAIA schools Wilberforce and Northwestern Ohio.
LAST TIME OUT: Lake Erie College faced the tough task of going to GLIAC leader and No. 25-ranked Hillsdale College and the Chargers were too much as the Storm fell, 79-55, in the Jesse Phillips Arena in Hillsdale, Mich. Lake Erie was led by junior forward Brandon Smith with 14 points.
OPPONENT OUTLOOK: Ashland has dropped three straight games, including two straight in GLIAC play, after opening the season 3-0. None of the three losses - to Edinboro, Hillsdale and Wayne State - came by more than five points. The Eagles went 13-15 a season ago (9-13 GLIAC), and were picked to finish fourth in the GLIAC South Division in the pre-season poll, one spot ahead of Lake Erie.
GOING FOR 1,000: To date, senior guard Ethan Bradshaw has accumulated 919 career points. Bradshaw is just 81 points shy of becoming the 12th player in Lake Erie's 1,000-point club after graduated teammate Darnell Campbell reached the mark last season.
