LAKE ERIE TRIES TO STAY PERFECT: The Lake Erie men's basketball team will try to open its season 2-0 with a victory against the University of Northwestern Ohio tonight here at the Jerome T. Osborne Family Athletic & Wellness Center. The Storm has now won six of their past seven games dating back to last season. The last time they started 2-0 in a season was 2006-07 when they went on to a 25-3 record and a NCAA Div. III postseason appearance.
LAST TIME OUT: Lake Erie defeated Wilberforce University, 83-65, in its season-opener on Sunday, Nov. 14. The Storm was hot from the field, shooting .566 (30-of-53), including 8-of-15 from behind the arc. Lake Erie never trailed in the game and an 11-0 run late in the first half put them comfortably ahead. Senior Antonio Kidd led four players in double figures with 14 points.
OPPONENT OUTLOOK: Northwestern Ohio is 0-2 on the season, having lost to the University of Saint Francis, 79-70, and Mount Vernon Nazarene College, 83-78 in OT. The Racers enter this game after a 13-day layoff, having last played on Nov. 6.
BRADSHAW ACCOLADES: After being named to the All-Independent Team last season, senior guard Ethan Bradshaw was tabbed as a GLIAC Preseason All-South Division Second Team selection by the league coaches. Bradshaw led the team in scoring last year, averaging 16 points per game.
HIT THE ROAD JACK: The Storm will play its next four games on the road starting Tuesday at #2 IUP.
