DANBURY, Conn.—Lake Erie College junior running back Anthony Bilal (Painesville, Ohio/Riverside) and senior lineman Corbin Jackimowicz (North Fort Myers, Fla./North Fort Myers) were named to the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division-II Football All-Star Team announced by the conference Monday (Dec. 22).
Bilal was named Co-Offensive Player of the Year while Jackimowicz was one of five linemen chosen for the team.
The Co-Offensive Player of the Year honors adds to the list of honors earned by Bilal this offseason. He recently finished third in the Harlon Hill Trophy voting, which is awarded to the top player in Division-II. Bilal has earned First-Team All-American selections by Daktronics, AP Little All-American, Beyond Sports Network and USA College Football, as well as First-Team All-Region honors by Daktronics and Don Hansen. He was named the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Offensive Back of the Year, earning a spot on the First-Team.
Bilal broke several school records en route to becoming the Storm's first 2,000 yard rusher. He ended the year tied for lead nationally in rushing touchdowns with 29 and second in rushing yards with 2,091 on just 254 carries (8.2 avg.). Against Ohio Dominican University, Ferris State University and Michigan Tech University- three teams that qualified for the NCAA playoffs- Bilal totaled 626 yards and six touchdowns.
Leading the way for Bilal this year was his offensive line, anchored by Second-Team All-GLIAC center Jackimowicz. Jackimowicz played every snap of offense in 2014. He helped anchor a Storm offensive line that jolted the rushing attack to finish eighth in the country, averaging over 290 rushing yards a game. Prior to the season, Jackimowicz was deemed a Preseason All-American by USA College Football.
