DANBURY, Conn.—Lake Erie College junior running back Anthony Bilal (Painesville, Ohio/Riverside) has been named Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Co-Offensive Player of the Week honors for his performance against Walsh University Saturday (Sept. 20) in the conference's weekly release on Tuesday (Sept. 23).
In addition to the ECAC honor, Bilal earned GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week honors and a spot on the weekly USA College Football Division-II Weekly Honor Mention list.
Bilal rushed for 171 yards on just 17 carries and a program record six touchdowns as the Storm won 47-36. The touchdowns came on runs of one, four, five, 34, 43 and 46-yards. Four of the touchdowns came in the second-half.
Through three games, Bilal has racked up 588 yards on 58 carries (10.1 avg.) and 12 touchdowns. The 12 rushing touchdowns and 24.0 points per game rank first in all of Division-II while his 588 rushing yards ranks second.
The Storm is back in action next Saturday (Sept. 27) when they travel north to face Grand Valley State University.
