QUICK NOTES: Lake Erie College looks for its first victory of the season Saturday (Sept. 15) as it travels to nationally-ranked Wayne State University for a noon kickoff at Adams Field in Detroit… the Storm (0-2) lost its Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) opener at home last week to Ferris State, 49-21… the Storm forced four turnovers in the loss, including a pair of interceptions by sophomore Stacy Woodford which tied a school single-game record… Woodford also had 10 solo tackles, a career high… freshman Anthony Bilal (Riverside) rushed for 99 yards on 12 carries in his first game action while redshirt freshman Anthony Kukwa (Perry/Ball State) caught two touchdown passes (19, 29 yards) from Patrick Nicely (Willoughby South/Akron)… the Storm is just 1-14 all time against schools from Michigan, losing 13 straight… Wayne State (0-1, 0-1 GLIAC) lost its season and conference opener on the road at Ashland University last week, 7-0… the Warriors, currently ranked 19th in the AFCA Top 25 Coaches Poll, went 12-4 in 2011 and reached the NCAA Division II National Championship game before falling to Pittsburgh State… in the loss to Ashland, the Warriors were held to just 162 total yards. QB Mickey Mohner (Painesville Harvey) completed 10-of-19 throws for 86 yards.
