PAINESVILLE, OHIO – Lake Erie College will host a fireworks show following the conclusion of the Storm football team's October 9th game against Wayne State University. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. at Jack Britt Memorial Stadium in Painesville Kiwanis Recreation Park. (Directions)
The show will be produced by American Fireworks, Inc. of Hudson, Ohio. American Fireworks produces the acclaimed weekend shows during the summer at Classic Park for the Lake County Captains baseball.
It will be just the second home night game in Lake Erie history and first since the Storm's inaugural varsity game on Aug. 28, 2008 against Gannon University. The Storm is competing in its first season in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC). This is the first meeting between Lake Erie and Wayne State.
"This is going to be a very exciting night for Storm Athletics, Lake Erie College, the City of Painesville and the surrounding community," said Director of Athletics Griz Zimmermann. "Fans will be treated to what should be an exciting game and an awesome fireworks display. It's the first time in over 20 years there will be a fireworks display in the city of Painesville and it'll be a great night for families to come out and have some fun."
Tickets for the game, which are just $10 for adults and $5 for students and senior citizens, are available at the gate. The fireworks show will begin approximately 15 minutes after the game.
