Former Lake Erie Storm hurler Michael Stryffeler has recently signed with the Seattle Mariners after an impressive showing with the Lake Erie Crushers. He joins fellow Storm alumni Ryan Rua and Lucas Raley as players who have gone on to ink with Major League Baseball teams.
The Lake Erie Storm baseball team stayed alive in the 2019 G-MAC postseason with a record-breaking 6-3 win over Trevecca Nazarene University at Prasco Park on Thursday morning. The Storm now stands at 29-21 while the Trojans ended their season at 28-22.
Lake Erie fell in a pair of games against Malone by scores of 3-2 and 12-4 Monday afternoon at Jackson High School. The Storm dropped to 11-13 overall and 5-7 within the G-MAC, while the Pioneers moved up to 20-10 overall and 10-4 in the league.
Despite the change in location Lake Erie defeated Trevecca Nazarene in a pair of games by scores of 2-1 and 5-1 in Music City on Saturday afternoon. The Storm (9-7, 4-2) walked off in the opener before ace David LeMasters fanned 10 in the nightcap to hand the Trojans (10-10, 4-2) their first two G-MAC losses of the year.
