PAINESVILLE, Ohio – The Lake Erie College baseball team will continue Great Midwest play this weekend with the Davis & Elkins Senators and the Alderson Broaddus Battlers. Instead of playing on the road, Lake Erie will play both teams at Classic Park in Eastlake, Ohio.
The Storm and the Senators will play on Sunday (March 25) in a doubleheader starting at 1:00 PM. On Monday (March 26), the Storm and Battlers will face off on the diamond at Classic Park, with a doubleheader beginning at 1:00 PM.
Storm Report: Lake Erie enters the weekend with a 5-9-1 overall record and a 3-1 G-MAC record. The Storm split a doubleheader with Cedarville in Mason, Ohio last Friday (March 16). Lake Erie won game one 4-3 and fell in game two 6-2. Ryan Carver (Orange Park, Fla. / Oakleaf) leads the Storm with a .372 batting average while Trace Peterson (Medina, Ohio / Medina) is the team leader in runs (13), hits (19), home runs (five) and RBI (11).
Opposition Position: Davis & Elkins is 4-17 overall and 0-4 in the G-MAC as of March 22nd. The Senators fell 12-3 and 5-1 to the Findlay Oilers in their last contests. Maxx Mahon leads the team with a .324 batting average, 15 runs, 22 hits, seven doubles, four homeruns and 13 RBI. Alderson Broaddus is 3-12 overall and 1-3 in the G-MAC as of March 22nd. The Battlers defeated the Oilers 2-1 in game one and lost 7-6 in the nightcap. Chuck Hooker is the team leader in batting average (.352), runs (13), hits (19), home runs (seven) and RBI (18).
