ROLLA, Mo.—Lucas Raley of the Lake Erie College baseball team was named to the Division-II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) All-Midwest Region First-Team, released by the organization Thursday (May 19).
This marks the second time Raley (Hinckley, Ohio/Medina Highland) has earned All-Region honors. Following his freshman campaign in 2014, Raley earned All-Region Second-Team accolades. Earlier this offseason, he earned a spot on the All-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) First-Team.
"I'm really proud of what he accomplished this year," remarked Storm Head Coach Brian McGee. "He is very deserving of this honor."
The former GLIAC Freshman of the Year had a phenomenal season at the plate. He batted .424 with an on-base percentage of .528 and a slugging percentage of .747. In 158 at-bats, Raley had 67 hits including 11 doubles, two triples and 12 homeruns. He scored 54 times and drove in 39 runs. Raley stole 12 bases and earned 28 walks. He had 25 multi-hit and 10 multi-RBI games. The junior had a season-high six RBI against David and Elkins College. Defensively, he had a fielding percentage of .983 with 11 assists.
With the spot on the All-Region First-Team, Raley is put on the ballot for the D2CCA All-American vote.
