PAINESVILLE, OHIO -- After clinching a spot in next week's Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Tournament, the Lake Erie College baseball team has announced a cancellation of its May 8 nonconference game at Division I Kent State University due to a scheduling conflict. The game will not be rescheduled.
The Storm will make its debut appearance in the league championship on Wednesday, May 9, at a time to be determined at V.A. Memorial Stadium in Chillicothe, Ohio. The team will travel to Chillicothe on Tuesday for a practice day at the venue, thereby forcing a cancellation of the game against the Golden Flashes.
Lake Erie wraps up its regular season this weekend with a four-game set at Wayne State University in Detroit, Mich. Currently second in the conference standings, the Storm can finish anywhere in the top five depending on several outcomes this weekend.
