PAINESVILLE, Ohio—Lake Erie College women's volleyball's Alexis Thomas and men's soccer's Hugo Fauroux were named the Lake Erie SAAC Student-Athletes of the Month for their performances in October.
Thomas (Cincinnati, Ohio/Fairfield), a sophomore, has taken off since taking over full-time setting duties. Despite splitting time in the role in the Storm's first six contests, she has moved up to second place in assists in the GLIAC. In the month of October Thomas had 421 assists and 122 digs, notching double-doubles in six matches. Thomas also sits in 17th place in the conference in digs. Thomas has been instrumental in securing a Storm record for wins in a season.
Fauroux (Cannes, France/Lycee Bristol), a sophomore goalkeeper, helped lead the Storm to its fourth consecutive GLIAC postseason appearance this fall. He was second in the GLIAC and 28th nationally in goals-against-average (0.85), second in the GLIAC and 9th nationally in save percentage (.828), and set a program record for shutouts in a season with nine. Fauroux was also named GLIAC Goalkeeper of the Year.
