CEDARVILLE, Ohio – The Lake Erie College cross country team was in action today (Sept. 29) when they competed in the All-Ohio Championships.
The Storm women were led by Gina Henley (Akron, New York / Akron) as she ran her fastest time of the season and crossed the line in a time of 24:55.8 minutes. Catherine Beisel (Geneva, Ohio / Geneva) was not far behind as she also ran a season best time of 25:20.3 minutes.
The men were led by freshman Xavier Kibet as he crossed the line in a time of 27:55.5 minutes. Jason Henry (Ashtabula, Ohio / Edgewood) and Brandon Bryan (Geneva, Ohio / Geneva) added to the men's performance as they finished right next to each other with times of 29:35.4 minutes and 29:37.4 minutes respectfully.
Interim Head Coach Matt Stuck said "Our day was capped out with two very good performances between Catherine and Gina. They both ran there fastest time ever on that course. They both also ran the fastest they ever have at this point in the season. It is exciting considering we will be back at the Elvin King Course for Regional championships on November 4th".
Lake Erie will be back in action Saturday (Oct. 7) when they travel to compete in the Pittsburgh Invite.
