EVANSVILLE, Ind.—The Lake Erie College cross country team concluded their 2015 season at the Midwest Regionals held in Evansville, Ind. Saturday (Nov. 7).
The women ran a 6k while the men ran a 10k.
Dalton Graham (Gomer, Ohio/Columbus Grove) had the top finish for the Storm men, finishing in 50th place with a time of 32:31.86. Graham's time was the second best all-time by a Storm runner at Regionals. Brandon Green (Eastlake, Ohio/North) placed 88th with a time of 33:12.09. Vince Horning (Stow, Ohio/Stow) took 95th with a time of 33:18.81. Jordan Pritchard (Painesville, Ohio/Lake Catholic) finished 99th with a time of 33:22.97. Logan Ebersole (Chesterville, Ohio/Highland) rounded out the top five for the Storm in 148th with a time of 34:19.48. George Lesnak (Mantua, Ohio/Crestwood) took 171st with a time of 35:03.05 while Wade Elmore (Mentor, Ohio/Mentor) placed 203rd with a time of 37:06.40.
The top-five times for the Storm placed them in 17th place out of 31 schools. The finish is the best by the Storm men in program history.
Gina Henley (Akron, Ohio/Akron HS) had the top finish for the Storm women, taking 178th with a time of 24:58.87. Taylor Ritchie (Salem, Ohio/United Local) finished just behind Henley in 179th with a time of 24:59. 17. The previous top time for the Storm at Regionals was 25:17. Aleea Volkman (Wauseon, Ohio/Wauseon) finished in 190th with a time of 25:37.63 while Catherine Biesel (Geneva, Ohio/Geneva) finished 198th with a time of 25:58.34. Aneesa Volkman (Wauseon, Ohio/Wauseon) rounded out the top five with a time of 26:00.34 to place 199th. Hailey VanHoy (Geneva, Ohio/Geneva) placed 210th with a time of 26:46.99 while Hailey Wetzel (Willoughby, Ohio/Willoughby South) finished 211th with a time of 26:47.70.
As a team, the Storm finished 29th.
