PAINESVILLE, OHIO – Behind big nights from junior Michelle Naab (North Royalton, Ohio/North Royalton) and freshman Jamie Hoppe (Green Springs, Ohio/Clyde) the Lake Erie College volleyball team moved above .500 on the season with a 3-2 victory at traditional non-conference rival Notre Dame College Tuesday night (Sept. 7) in South Euclid, Ohio.

Naab had a season-high nine kills and assisted on three blocks while Hoppe had personal highs with 15 kills and 12 digs to lead the Storm (3-2)  attack.  Lake Erie had 47 kills in the match, including 14 service aces, in snapping a seven-match losing streak against the Falcons (1-9).

Naab's high school teammate, junior Krista O'Connor (North Royalton, Ohio/North Royalton) led the team with 28 assists while fellow junior setter Lauren Bogatay (Mentor, Ohio/Mentor) added 20.

Notre Dame  took the first set 25-21, but Lake Erie immediately responded by taking the next two, 25-18 and 25-20.  The Storm was unable to close it out in four as the Falcons forced a decisive set with a 25-20 win.  Lake Erie won the final set by scoring the final four points in a 15-11 frame.

Semior defensive specialist Lauren Johnson (Wellington, Ohio/Keystone) had 27 of the team's 88 digs.
