Trip to Northwestern Ohio a Rough One as Storm Falls 3-1

PAINESVILLE, OHIO-Freshman hitter Mary Walter (Solon, Ohio/Notre Dame Cathedral Latin) had 16 kills and added 10 digs on defense but it wasn't enough as the Lake Erie College volleyball team dropped a 3-1 decision at the University of Northwestern Ohio on Thursday night (Oct. 22) in Lima, Ohio.

Senior Eric Muniak (Geneva, Ohio/Geneva) and sophomore Michelle Naab (North Royalton, Ohio/North Royalton) each had seven kills for the Storm (8-22). Sophomore Brittany Raggets (Eastlake, Ohio/Villa Angela St. Joseph) recorded 20 digs on defense.

Northwestern Ohio (20-10) won the first two sets by identical 25-15 scores. The Storm rebounded for a 25-22 win in set three, but the Racers responded with a 25-14 victory in the fourth set to close out the match.

Megan EnYart had a game-high 17 kills for UNOH. Two other players had 12 kills apiece.

The 16 kills by Walter were one short of her career high which she set last weekend against Maryville University at the GLIAC/GLVC Crossover Tournament.

The Storm will look to stop its three-game losing streak on Saturday, Oct. 24, when it hosts Ohio Dominican University at 1 p.m.
