#23 Lake Erie Defeats #18 Findlay on Senior Night

PAINESVILLE, Ohio – The #23 Lake Erie College wrestling team defeated the #18 University of Findlay Roughnecks on Saturday (Feb. 3) night by a final score of 36-12 on Senior Night.

Tenth-ranked Blake Glogouski (New Paris, Ind. / Fairfield) opened his match at 125 pounds with Zachary Collins with an early takedown. Glogouski turned the takedown into a fall in the closing seconds of the first period.

At 133 pounds, Forrest Glogouski (New Paris, Ind. / Fairfield) battled Michael Stewart in a close battle with an escape point on both sides. Glogouski secured a 2-1 decision victory with the riding time point over Stewart.

Lake Erie picked up forfeit victories at 141, 157, 165 and 174 pounds.

At 197 pounds, Jesse Palser (Mansfield, Ohio / Mansfield) was victorious over Armani Robinson in an overtime battle. After the match went to overtime tied at one, Palser secured a victory with a takedown in overtime for the 3-1 sudden victory-1.

The Roughnecks won three of the matches contested. Findlay earned a decision at 149 pounds as Josh Wimer defeated Andrew Lieb (Pataskala, Ohio / Watkins) in an 8-5 decision. Fifth-ranked Bradley Metz pinned ninth-ranked Tyler Hughes (Brunswick, Ohio / Brunswick) in the closing seconds of the third period in the 184-pound match. Mimmo Lytle defeated Brandon Houle (Sparta, Mich. / Rockford / Hope) in an 8-2 decision at 285 pounds.

The Storm will return to the mat on Wednesday (Feb. 7) at Tiffin for a dual at 7:00 PM.
