Storm Wrestling Ranked Eighth in Division-II Coaches' Poll, Second in Region

Full Coaches' Poll Release

PAINESVILLE, Ohio-- The Lake Erie College wrestling team is slated at the number eight spot in the initial Division-II Coaches' Poll and the number two spot in the initial Super Region II rankings, released Thursday (Oct. 29).

The Storm was previously ranked 11th nationally in the Basford Rankings released last week.

In addition to being ranked second as a team in the region, eight wrestlers will enter the season ranked in the region.

Matt Vandermeer (Clarkston, Mich./Clarkston), the 2015 165-pound National Runner-up, will enter the season as the top wrestler in that weight class.  He is also the top ranked wrestler in the Coaches' Poll at 165-pounds. 

2015 national qualifiers Evan Rosborough (Concord Twp., Ohio/Riverside) and Nicholas Vandermeer (Clarkston, Mich./Clarkston) enter the season as the third ranked wrestlers at 197- and 174-pounds, respectively, in the region.  Rosborough also made an appearance in the Coaches' Poll Rnakings at seventh.

Christian Baughman (Wadsworth, Ohio/Wadsworth) will enter his senior season ranked fourth in the region at 157-pounds.  125-pounder Forrest Glogouski (New Paris, Ind./Fairfield),133-pounder Austin Gillihan (Corry, Pa./Corry Area), 141-pounder Ian Ross (Newark, N.Y./Newark) and 149-pounder Nick Boggs (Concord, Ohio/Riverside) all enter the season ranked fifth in the region.

The Storm open their season Sunday (Nov. 1) at home for the Black vs. Green Intrasquad meet.
