PAINESVILLE, OHIO – The Lake Erie College wrestling team capped its second season by having four grapplers named to the 2011-12 NCAA Division II All-Academic Wrestling Team by the NCAA Division II Wrestling Coaches Association. 

Sophomores Zev Green (Marysville, Ohio/Marysville) and Tyler Tesny (Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio/Cuyahoga Falls) were named to the Second Team while sophomore Jared Merritt (Cranesville, Pa./Northwestern) and junior Justin Toth (Leroy Township, Ohio/Riverside) received honorable mention.

To be eligible for the All-Academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average and be in at least his second full year at the school.  He must also be a starter or key reserve on the team and have a minimum of two letters of recommendation submitted on his behalf.

A total of 164 wrestlers from 40 schools were selected for this year's team.

Green posted an 18-16 overall record at 174 pounds, including a first-place finish at the season-opening University of Mount Union Invitational.  Tesny was 11-13 overall at 157 pounds, with a 2-0 mark at the inaugural Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Championships.  Merritt split time at two weight classes, 174 and 184 pounds, and was 5-7 overall plus finished fourth at the Mercyhurst University Laker Open.  Toth went 10-7 at 125 pounds, posting
