Linden Lone Winner as Lake Erie Falls at Nationally Ranked Ashland

Freshman Josh Linden (Broadview Heights, Ohio/Brecksville-Broadview Heights) picked up a win at 174-lbs but it was the lone victory for Lake Erie College at #17-ranked Ashland University in Ashland, Ohio. 

The Eagles took the match 44-3 to improve to 8-2 in dual matches while the Storm is now 2-7.  Lake Erie was forced to take three forfeits among the 10 weight classes.

Linden picked up his 13th win of the season, tied for tops on the team, over Ashland's Ryan Thatcher, 6-4, in the closest contest of the matches. Thatcher is ranked fourth in the region.

The two other contests which finished in decisions came at 157-lbs and 165-lbs with freshman Zev Green (Marysville, Ohio/Marysville) and sophomore Andrew Gasber (Madison, Ohio/Madison). Green was defeated by AU's Marc Hoff, 11-5 and Gasber fell to Jake Piatt, 13-6.  Both Green (9-9) and Gasber (8-8) are now .500 on the season.

Lake Erie will be back in Ashland tomorrow for the Simonson Open starting at 9:00 a.m.
