Women's Lacrosse Falls In G-MAC Action To Walsh

(PAINESVILLE, Ohio) – Lake Erie fell to Walsh by a score of 16-11 under the lights at Jack Britt Stadium on Friday evening. It was the first G-MAC defeat for the Storm (5-4, 2-1), while the Cavaliers (9-4, 1-2) found their first conference victory.

The contest featured back-and-forth action with the Green and White rallying for three goals late in the first half to make it a one-goal game at the halftime break. Chloe Nottingham sparked the run on an assist by Riley Heffron to make it 9-6 with 57 seconds left in the frame.

Heffron added a pair of goals herself in the final 25 seconds with the last one just barely beating the buzzer. She led the game with four goals and an assist for five points.

The second half belonged to the Cavaliers, however, as the visitors opened up the period with the first six goals. Lake Erie eventually found the back of the net once again thanks to Brigid Lempko on an unassisted strike in the middle of the half. After another Walsh score, Heffron and Anna Spin added scores to set the final score.

Harmony Moore made seven saves on the evening before giving way to Mackenzie Levine who added five more. Chloe Nottingham tallied six ground balls and five draw controls.

The Storm will play their penultimate home game this Sunday when they host Ohio Valley. Opening draw with the Fighting Scots is set for noon.
