Women's Lacrosse Travels to Senators & Battlers (Preview)

PAINESVILLE, Ohio – The Lake Erie College women's lacrosse team will begin a span of four straight road games with Great Midwest matchups against the Davis & Elkins College Senators and the Alderson Broaddus University Battlers.

The Storm will play the Senators on Friday (April 20) at 6:00 PM and then face the Battlers on Sunday (April 22) at 1:00 PM.

Storm Report: Lake Erie is 9-2 overall and 7-0 in the G-MAC this season after winning a program-record nine straight games. The Storm rallied from five goals down against Findlay last Friday (April 13) for a 14-12 win at home. Findlay led 9-4 with 27 minutes left to go before the Storm went on a 10-3 run. Anna Spin (Auburn, N.Y. / Auburn) leads the Storm and the G-MAC with 44 goals scored.

News and Notes: A. Spin and Harmony Moore (Farmington, N.Y. / Canadaigua Academy) both earned Great Midwest Player of the Week honors this week. A. Spin scored 15 points, 10 goals and five assists in the Storm's two wins last week. Moore made 15 saves as the Storm won two games at home… Lake Erie is now fifth in the Midwest Region Rankings… the Storm has the best free position shot percentage (61.8%) in all of Division II… A. Spin has converted 81% of her free position shots, third best in the country.

Opposition Position: Davis & Elkins is 3-8 overall and 2-6 in the G-MAC after an 18-4 win over Sweet Briar on Tuesday (April 18). Gabby Fagan leads the Senators with 24 goals scored and 25 points. Alderson Broaddus has an overall record of 4-10 and a G-MAC mark of 3-5. The Battlers defeated Ohio Valley 16-11 in their last game. Alderson Broaddus will host Ursuline before hosting the Storm. Krista Cooper leads the Battlers with 29 goals and 35 points.

Series History: The Storm defeated the Senators 20-2 earlier this season at home, improving to 2-0 against D&E. Lake Erie improved to 5-0 against the Battlers with a 22-3 victory earlier this season at the Britt.

Storm Forecast: Lake Erie will travel to Ursuline on Tuesday (April 24) at 4:00 PM.
