CHESTERLAND, OHIO – Northwood University holds a five-shot lead over Ohio Dominican University after the first round of the 2012 Lake Erie College Fall Women's Golf Invitational presented by Qdoba Mexican Grill. There are seven teams represented at the two-day event which teed off Sunday (Sept. 23) at Fowler's Mill Golf Course in Chesterland.
Lake Erie has three golfers competing as individuals in the event. Senior Meghan Lundblad (Mentor, Ohio/Mentor) is tied for 28th place after an opening round 98. Freshmen Libby Devlin (Fort Wayne, Ind./Bishop Luers) and Amanda Watts (Stow, Ohio/Stow-Munroe Falls) are in 34th and 37th place, respectively after day one.
Northwood's Brittany Davidson (80) has a one-stroke lead over teammate Amee Cox (81) as the duo led the Timberwolves to a team score of 343 after round one. Ohio Dominican is at 348, followed by Walsh University at 354, Tiffin University and Malone University tied at 372 and Lake Superior State University at 379.
The second round concludes Monday morning, Sept. 24.
