Weather Makes for Tough Conditions, High Scores at Qdoba Fall Invitational

MADISON, OHIO – Soggy conditions and a steady rain through most of the afternoon put a damper on those with hopes of low scores Sunday (Oct. 2) during the first round of the Lake Erie College Qdoba Mexican Grill Fall Women's Golf Invitational at Madison Country Club.

Despite the rough conditions, senior Amanda Blasko (Concord, Ohio/Mentor) persevered through the elements to shoot a respectable round of 87 to tie for fifth place.  She is just five strokes off the pace of individual leader Kelsey Auditore (ODU) of Ohio Dominican University.

The rest of the Storm struggled through the rain in its home tournament, as Lake Erie finished with a team score of 420 in round one. Junior Megan Lundblad (Mentor, Ohio/Mentor) shot a first-round 92 and was the only Lake Erie player other than Blasko under 100.

Ohio Dominican posted a team score of 354 and leads Tiffin University by 16 strokes. Clarion University is in third at 395.

Auditore leads by three strokes over teammate Danielle Misencik. Two others are tied at 86.

Monday's second round, which is forecasted to be played in significantly better weather conditions, tees off at 10 a.m. on the par-72, 5,428-yard course.
