PAINESVILLE, OHIO – The Lake Erie College women's golf team improved by 26 strokes as a team on Sunday (Sept. 25) in the second round of the Bulldog Fall Invitational at Ferris State University, but the Storm couldn't make up any ground and finished in ninth place at the tournament.
After combining to shoot 388 in the first round, the Storm posted a team score of 362 on day two.
Senior Amanda Blasko (Concord, Ohio/Mentor) shot 88-88-176 to finish tied for 44th place. She was the only Storm golfer to finish in the top 45. Junior Megan Lundblad (Mentor, Ohio/Mentor) tied for 50th place overall with a score of 97-85-182.
Grand valley State University, who had the top two individual finishers, easily won the team title by 22 strokes over the University of Findlay.
The Storm hosts the Lake Erie Fall Invitational presented by Qdoba Mexican Grille next week, Oct. 2-3, at Madison Country Club.
