PAINESVILLE, OHIO – The Lake Erie College women's golf team is in seventh place after the first two rounds of the 2011 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Championships on Friday (April 22) at the Country Club of Ashland in Ashland, Ohio.
The Storm opened with a team round of 390 in the morning and followed with a 401 in the afternoon's second round. Lake Erie is currently ahead of eighth-place Lake Superior State University by three strokes.
Individually, sophomore Megan Lundblad (Mentor, Ohio/Mentor) is the Storm's low scorer through the first 36 holes. She is in 27th place at 90-98-188. Junior Amanda Blasko (Concord, Ohio/Mentor) is 33rd at 105-92-197.
Freshman Taylor Wilson (Mentor, Ohio/Mentor), sophomore Stephanie Morgan (Stow, Ohio/Stow-Munroe Falls) and freshman Stephanie Koval (Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio/Cuyahoga Falls) round out the Storm contingent at 98-101-199, 100-107-207 and 102-114-216, respectively.
The third and final round of the event will be held on Saturday, April 23, teeing off at 8:30 a.m.
