Storm Begins Home and Home Series With Bluefield State (Preview)

PAINESVILLE, Ohio- The Lake Erie College women's basketball team will conclude the month of November with the first game of a split home and home series with the Bluefield State College Big Blues. The Storm will play on Tuesday (Nov. 28) for a 5:00 PM road matchup.

"This is our last non-conference game before we begin G-MAC play next Saturday at Ursuline," said Storm head coach Bob Booher. "We need to continue to improve on defense and in full court pressure situations. Looking to get more consistent at the offensive end and especially from the free throw line."

Storm Report: Lake Erie is 2-2 following a split weekend at the Redhawk Alumni Classic. The Storm defeated Daemen College 68-62 on Friday (Nov. 17) but fell to the host Roberts Wesleyan 81-73 on Saturday (Nov. 18). Kayla Gabor (Mentor, Ohio / Mentor) scored 25 points in each game, leading the Storm. Gabor is third in the G-MAC with an average of 19.3 points per game. Christine Dawson (Mentor, Ohio / Mentor) is fourth in the conference with 10.3 rebounds per game.

Opposition Position: The Big Blues are 1-6 so far this season, after Bluefield State fell 78-41 to Tusculum in their last game. Rosalie Pozo is the leading scorer with 13.0 points scored per game.

Series History: The Storm and the Big Blues have never met on the hardwood before. These two teams will meet again in Painesville on January 15th as a part of the home and home series.

Storm Forecast: Lake Erie will play their first Great Midwest contest at Ursuline on Saturday (Dec. 2), beginning at 2:00 PM.
