The Lake Erie College women's basketball team takes its two-game winning streak on the road to the Mansfield University Comfort Inn Classic.  The Storm (5-4) will play host Mansfield Friday (Dec. 11) at 7:30 p.m. and Slippery Rock on Saturday afternoon (Dec. 12) at 1 p.m.  Lake Erie already has victories this season over both teams: 81-46 vs. Mansfield (Nov. 29) and 59-54 vs. Slippery Rock (Nov. 21).

BEST 9-GAME START: Lake Erie's 5-4 start is the best through nine games since the 1998-99 team also opened the season 5-4.  No LEC team has ever opened the season with six wins in its first 10 games.
30th SEASON OF STORM HOOPS: This is the 30th season in Lake Erie women's basketball history dating back to the 1978-79 season.  To date, the Storm has posted an overall record of 157-494 (.241).  However, over 28 percent of the program's all-time wins have come in the last five seasons under head coach Bob Booher.

UP NEXT: Lake Erie will take on a Division I opponent for the first time in regular season play on Monday night (Dec. 14) at the University of Akron. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT FOR THE STORM: The Storm posted a pair of blow-out wins at the Ohio Dominican Classic last weekend, defeating UC-Clermont 88-40 on Friday night and then beating Midway 101-70 on Saturday afternoon. Sophomore Stephanie Rogers (Mentor, Ohio/Mentor) posted a double-double in each game, including an 18-point, 14-rebound performance against Midway.  Junior Alyssa Wagers (Stow, Ohio/Stow-Munroe Falls) also had a double-double against Midway with a game-high 19 points and 10 boards.  Against Clermont, senior Renese Ames (Bedford, Ohio/Bedford) led the way with 19 points.  The Storm had five players reach double figures in both games.

FAMILIAR FOES: Lake Erie and Mansfield had never met on the basketball court before the Storm's 81-46 win on Nov. 29, now they will meet for the second time in 12 days on Friday night. The Storm and Slippery Rock played just eight days prior to that.

RECORD DAY: The 101 points scored in the 101-70 victory over Midway Dec. 5 tied the school single-game record previously set against Mt. Aloysius on Feb. 16, 2008.  In addition, the 57 second-half points by the Storm were the most in a half in school history (previous record: 54).

STORM PUTS CLAMPS ON COUGARS: The Storm defense stifled UC-Clermont, holding the Cougars to just 22.8 percent shooting (13-of-57)- the lowest percentage since at least 2003- in the 88-40 win Dec. 4.  The 40 points were the fewest allowed by a Storm team since Nov. 28, 2007 (a 79-36 win over Hilbert) and the 48-point win margin was the highest since an 82-33 (49) win over Valley Forge on Dec. 4, 1998.
