ALLENDALE, Mich. – The Lake Erie College track and field team was in action today (May 4) as they competed in the second day of the GLIAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

Coach Lofdahl said "Hailey got us off to a good start with a big school record and 5th-place finish in the heptathlon. Finishing that high as a true freshman is really excellent. Danielle won a very close long jump competition beating out two former GLIAC champions, and Nadia jumped really well to get 4th. Simone Green raced her way into the 100 finals as well, and our 4x100 relay qualified".

Coach Lofdahl added "For the men, DJ had a tremendous performance in the steeple. It was a tactical race, and he ran very smart to take 2nd and get on the podium. Again our 4x1 team qualified and they're ready to move up in the finals, and Shavon Thompson had a clutch 200 dash to make finals as well".

Lake Erie will return to the track tomorrow (May 5) when they wrap up competition at the GLIAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
