WINTHROP, S.C. – The Lake Erie College track and field team was in action today as they competed in day one of the Adidas Invite.

The Storm women were led by Danielle Corbin (Brooklyn, N.Y. / Walnut Grove (Ga.)) as she took first place in the long jump, clearing a distance of 5.52 meters (18 feet, 1.5 inches).  Nadia Lee (Tucker, Ga. / Tucker) cleared a distance of 5.43 meters (17 feet, 9.75 inches) which earned her second place honors.  Hailey Nielsen (Jonesville, Mich. / Jonesville) added to a strong field performance as she placed fifth in the high jump clearing a height 1.55 meters (5 feet 1 inch).

Head Coach Grant Lofdahl said "Danielle and Nadia picked up where they left off after a stellar indoor season, and to go 1-2 in long jump in a meet of this caliber is exceptional, and Hailey nearly had a PR in high jump".

The Storm men were led by Vincent Horning (Stow, Ohio / Stow) as he placed third in the 5000 meter race with a time of 15:06.77 minutes.  The mark set by Horning in the 5000 meter was a new school record.  Jordan Pritchard (Painesville, Ohio / Lake Catholic) placed sixth in the 5000 meter as he crossed the line with a time of 15:16.57 minutes, which is his personal best.  Evan Loughman (Sheridan, Ohio / Sheridan) led the way for the men in field events as he took sixth in the shot put with a personal best throw of 14.26 meters (46 feet, 9.5 inches).

Coach Lofdahl added "The 5K guys capped off what was a good day for us, with a PR and outdoor school record for Vince and solid PRs for Jordan".

Lake Erie will return to the track tomorrow when they wrap up competition at the Adidas Invite.
