YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Lake Erie College track and field team was in action today as they competed at the Youngstown State Invitational.

Head Coach Grant Lofdahl said ""It was an up and down day like any track meet, but we did a lot of good things today. DJ broke a school record for the second week in a row and only missed a provisional qualifying time by a few seconds. Danielle had a very good effort in the long jump, hitting the first NCAA Provisional mark for our program this year".

The Storm women were led by Danielle Corbin (Brooklyn, N.Y. / Walnut Grove (Ga.) as she won the women's long jump as she cleared a distance of 18 feet five inches.  Johanna Moeller (Bochum, Germany / Schiller-Schule Gymnasium Furjungen Und Madchen) also set a personal record in the long jump as she cleared a distance of 16 feet 10 inches.  Nadia Lee (Tucker, Ga. / Tucker) took first in the women's triple jump as she cleared a distance of 37 feet five inches.

Coach Lofdahl added "Johanna had a big PR in the long jump it was her first time jumping over five meters. Nadia got a nice win in triple jump and placed 5th in high jump, which she's just learning".

The Storm men were led by DJ Graham (Gomer, Ohio / Columbus Grove) as he placed second in the 5000 meter run with a time of 14:50.40 minutes.  With this time Graham set a school record, which he previously held.  Joseph Elson (Mount Gilead, Ohio / Mount Gilead) and Torrez Edwards (Warrensville, Ohio / Warrensville Heights) each won their respective heats in the 400 meter prelims in times of 52.29 seconds and 52.38 seconds respectively.

Lake Erie will return to the track next Friday (Jan. 27) when they host the Midwest Open at the Spire Institute in Geneva, Ohio.
