Lake Erie Sending Four to Outdoor Nationals

INDIANAPOLIS, IND. – The Lake Erie College track and field teams will be sending four student-athletes to represent the school at the 2013 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Pueblo, Colo., May 23-25. The NCAA announced the list of national qualifiers late Tuesday (May 14).

Leading the way is junior All-American Jamil Dudley (Massillon, Ohio/Massillon) who is making his third straight appearance at the outdoor national meet and his fifth national appearance overall. He will defend his title in the high jump, entering the competition as the number two seed. His best jump to date this season is 2.22 meters (7' 3 ¼").

Redshirt junior Ethan Snyder (Salesville, Ohio/Buckeye Trail) is back at the national meet for the first time since 2011 and the third time overall.  He qualified eighth in the 400-meter hurdles with a best time of 51.88 seconds.  He was an All-American in the event in 2010.

After earning All-American honors at the Indoor Championships in March, sophomore Joe Postwaite (Rochester, N.Y./Gates Chili) makes his outdoor national debut in the triple jump.  He is the sixth seed going in, posting a season best jump of 15.55 meters (51' 2 ¾").

The Lake Erie women have a national qualifier for the first time. Sophomore Destiny Prusky (Newton Falls, Ohio/Newton Falls) made it as the 19th seed in the high jump. She was the runner-up at the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships by clearing 1.72 meters (5' 7 ¾"), which is her best jump to date.

Freshman Kady Held (Massillon, Ohio/Tuslaw) just missed qualifying in the discus throw, missing the cut by just one.  Her best throw of the season was 46.13 meters (151' 4") at Hillsdale College May 9, ranking 22nd on the performance list.  The top 21 were selected to qualify.
