NEW ORLEANS, LA. – Lake Erie College sophomore Joe Postwaite (Rochester, N.Y./Gates Chili) was named Division II Indoor Track & Field Midwest Region "Field Athlete of the Year" by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Friday (March 1).  The organization announced the regional athlete and coaches awards in advance of next week's NCAA Division II Track & Field Championships in Birmingham, Ala.

Postwaite, who owns the second-best triple jump in DII to date this season at 51' 2 ¾", won his second overall Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) triple jump title when he won the event at last weekend's GLIAC Indoor Championships.  He also claimed conference honors in the long jump (sixth) and high jump (seventh).  Postwaite won both the triple jump and long jump at last year's GLIAC Outoor Championships.

Making his first NCAA Championships appearance, Postwaite will be joined by junior All-American high jumper Jamil Dudley (Massillon, Ohio/Massillon) representing the Storm track and field teams at the national meet.
