Burrows Earns Spot in 100 Finals at NCAA Championships

TURLOCK, CALIF. – Sophomore All-American Chris Burrows (Trotwood, Ohio/Trotwood Madison) earned a spot in the finals in his first of three events on Thursday evening (May 26) at the 2011 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships with an impressive run in the 100-meter dash.

Burrows posted the fourth fastest time in qualifying with a school-record time of 10.29 seconds.  That puts him into the finals on Saturday night.

On Friday, Burrows will attempt to qualify for the finals in the 200-meter dash, an event he earned All-American honors in at the 2010 Championships. He'll also run on the Storm's 4x400-meter relay team.

Also on Thursday, sophomores Quinton Harley (Rochester, N.Y./Edison Tech) and Ethan Snyder (Salesville, Ohio/Buckeye Trail) competed in the 400-meter hurdles preliminaries.  Harley was 10th overall with a time of 52.82 seconds and Snyder was 12th at 53.06, however neither advanced to Saturday's finals.

In addition to the 200 and the 4x400 relay, freshman Jamil Dudley (Massillon, Ohio/Massillon) will compete in the final of the men's high jump.  Dudley enters seeded first after posting the best jump in the country during the season.
