Championship Week Opens with Highest National Ranking as Storm Men Climb to 13th

PAINESVILLE, OHIO -- After slipping three spots last week, the Lake Erie College men's track and field team vaulted up four slots this week in the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Top 25 Computer Poll released Monday (May 23). 

In the final rankings before this weekend's NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Turlock, Calif. (May 26-28), the Storm is ranked a program-best 13th.

Lake Erie will send five individuals to compete at the national meet, with four indivduals and one relay team representing the squad out west.  Returning 2010 Outdoor All-Americans Chris Burrows (Trotwood, Ohio/Trotwood Madison) and Ethan Snyder (Salesville, Ohio/Buckeye Trail) will be joined by Indoor All-Americans Jamil Dudley (Massillon, Ohio/Massillon) nd Isaac Snyder (Salesville, Ohio/Buckeye Trail) along with hurdler Quinton Harley (Rochester, N.Y./Edison Tech).

Burrows will compete in three events, running the 100- and 200-meter dashes as well as the 4x400-meter relay, while Harley and Ethan Snyder will both run the 400-meter hurdles and the 4x400.  Dudley is seeded first in the men's high jump, while Isaac Snyder, an All-American in the heptathlon, is the fourth member of the 4x4 team.
