Storm Runs Home Meet for First Time at Mid-Week Open

GENEVA, OHIO -- The Lake Erie College men's and women's track and field teams hosted their first indoor meet on Wednesday (Feb. 17) with the inaugural Lake Erie Mid-Week Ope at the GaREAT Complex in Geneva.

Individually for the Storm, freshmen Quinton Harley (Rochester, N.Y./Edison Tech) set the only school record of the night, becoming the first Lake Erie man to post a sub-2:00 time in the 800-meter dash.  He posted a time of 1:58.53 in his debut in that race. 

Freshmen Devin O'Neill (Concord, Ohio/Mentor) and Isaac Snyder (SSalesville, Ohio/Buckeye Trail) also ran strong 800-meters.  Classmate Jacob Nicol (Delaware, Ohio/ayes) ran a strong 200, recording a time of 23.70 seconds.

On the women's side, freshman Andrea Boyd (Bedford, Ohio/Bedford) ran a season-best 9.04 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles.  She also ran a 8.00-second 60-meter dash in the preliminary round. 

The Storm returns to the track on Friday, Feb. 19, at the Greater Cleveland Championships hosted by Baldwin-Wallace College.
