PAINESVILLE, Ohio – The Lake Erie College softball team was in action today as they were swept by Findlay.  The Oiler won game one, 11-2, and took game two, 3-2.

Game one started as a pitcher's duel as Allyson Deemer (Poland, Ohio / Poland Seminary) cruised through the first three innings of the game for the Storm.  The Oilers tacked on nine runs in the fourth and grabbed a 9-0 lead in the top of the fourth.  The Storm battled back with a pair of runs in the bottom of the fourth when Kristin Peacock (Hebron, Ohio / Lakewood) reached on a fielder's choice, and plated Allyson Hajnosz (Lordstown, Ohio / Lordstown).  The next batter up Alyssa Johnson (Wickliffe, Ohio / Wickliffe) singled to drive in Jennifer Doershuk (Streesboro, Ohio / Kent Roosevelt), to make the score 9-2 after the fourth.  The Oiler tacked on two runs in the top of the fifth, and won the game 11-2.

The Oilers grabbed a 2-0 run in the top of the first.  The Storm answered back and tied the game when Hajnosz doubled to left field and plated Marissa Rizzo (Northfield Center, Ohio / Nordonia) and Kaitlyn Peacock (Hebron, Ohio / Lakewood) who reached base earlier in the inning.  Findlay tacked on a run in the top of the fourth and took a 3-2 edge.  The Storm was unable to make a comeback and fell, 3-2.  Ashley Brown (Dayton, Ohio / Carlisle) was in the circle for game two.  Brown pitched a complete game as she allowed three runs on nine hits, while she struck out four batters.

Lake Erie will return to the diamond Monday (March 26) when they host Mercyhurst with first pitch scheduled for 3 p.m.
