Storm Moves Up to 6th in NSCAA Poll

KANSAS CITY, Mo.—The Lake Erie College men's soccer team moved up to sixth in the latest NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Division II Midwest Region Poll released Tuesday (November 4).

The Storm came in at seven in last week's poll.

This past week, the Storm continued to build upon their impressive winning streak, bringing it up to eight games with wins over Alderson Broaddus University and Ohio Dominican University on the road.  On Wednesday, (Oct. 29), the Storm won their final nonconference game of the season against the Battlers, 3-1.  On Friday (Oct. 31), the Storm picked up an impressive Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) contest on the road, upending Ohio Dominican University 6-0.

For their efforts in the two games, Alfred Majer (Mentor, Ohio/Mentor) and Joseph Coombs (Knutsford, England/Holmes Chapel Sixth Form) earned GLIAC Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week honors.

The Storm is back in action Friday (Nov. 7) morning, taking on Northwood University in the semifinals of the GLIAC Championships, hosted by Tiffin University.
