Storm On Two-Game Win Streak with Overtime Victory

PAINESVILLE, Ohio (September 23, 2008) - Lake Erie College won its second straight game after defeating visiting Malone College, 1-0 in double overtime Tuesday afternoon.

The Storm got off to a slow start with just one shot in the opening period, but gained momentum with each ensuing minute. The green and white tallied seven shots in the second half, then three more in each of the overtime periods, out-shooting the Pioneers 14-11 for the game. Keeper Clay Bolton (Poland, Ohio/Poland Seminary) recorded his first shutout in his first career start in the net totaling five saves.

Senior Brent Bleasdell (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla./South Plantation) tapped in the game-winner in the 118th minute off an Anthony Belviso (Euclid, Ohio/Euclid) pass. The tandem is quickly becoming a dangerous combination for the Storm, linking up in two of the team's most recent scores this season.

Lake Erie (2-8) is on the road Saturday at Pitt-Johnstown at 1 p.m.
