Storm Opens Great Midwest Action with Walsh (Preview)

PAINESVILLE, Ohio – The Lake Erie College men's lacrosse team will be in action Wednesday (March 14) when they host Walsh, with the game set to start at 7 p.m.  Lake Erie is ranked 20th in United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Coaches Poll.  Head Coach Steve Gartleman said, "It's always an honor to be recognized by our peers and the media.  We are proud to be back in the national rankings, but it is just the start in our opinion.  We have to keep working to improve throughout the entire year."

Storm Report: The Storm is 1-1 on the season and coming off a convincing win over Rollins.  Coach Gartelman said, "We will be prepared, but it will take focus from our men to learn our scout and game plan in two days

Opposition Position: The Cavaliers are 0-5 on the season and are coming off a loss to Young Harris.  Coach Gartelman added, "Walsh can control the ball with their attack and their face off unit.  We will have to win the ground ball battle, and win our 1v1 match ups on defense.

Coach Gartelman concluded, "If we can gain extra possessions off the ground balls and be very efficient on both sides of the ball we will earn a win.

Forecast: Lake Erie will return to the field Saturday (March 17) when they host Alderson Broaddus, with the game set to start at 12 p.m.
