Men's Basketball Adds Three to 2016 Recruiting Class

PAINESVILLE, Ohio—The Lake Erie College men's basketball team announced their class of 2016 Friday (Nov. 13).

The Storm will welcome three freshmen next season from some of the top high school programs in Ohio.

"As a class we could describe all of these players as 'winners from winning programs," said Storm Head Coach Cliff Hunt. "The learning curve for all of these players will be much smoother because of who they are and the programs they come from.  It is a great group of players, athletes, and people who are great fits for our program."

Gabe comes to Lake Erie College as one of the most college ready players we have had come into our program.  Gabe's game has the versatility that will allow him to play both guard positions for us.  He has a great understanding of the game and has really good habits already.  Gabe comes from a winning program and is a leader for his team.  Gabe is a winner.  We are very excited to add Gabe to our team and he will be heard from immediately.

Coach's Comments:

Ennis is an extremely versatile perimeter player who will be able to play the 1, 2, or 3 at the college level.  We believe that Ennis is one of those players who will become even a better player at the college level as he continues to grow and develop as a player.  He is a superior athlete who will excel in our style of play using the entire court on both offense and defense.  Ennis comes from another tremendously successful program where they play the game as it should be played.  The sky is the limit for Ennis at Lake Erie College.

Lamont Rhodes- 6'7 – Bedford

-Season high 15 points vs. Lorain

Coach's Comments:

Lamont is one of the most athletic big men playing this season in Ohio and his ability to play defense on the perimeter as well as around the basket makes him extremely valuable.  Offensively Lamont is best around the basket right now but he has unlimited potential to grow as an offensive player.  We are very excited to be able to help him grow as a player into someone who could be very special on both offense and defense.  Lamont is another player who comes from a very successful team and who fits our style of play perfectly.  We could not find a better fit for our system and Lamont could not find a better fit for his skills.
