GAMEDAY CENTRAL: Storm Open Season as Wilberforce Comes to Town

The Lake Erie College men's basketball team opens the 2010-11 season this afternoon with a nonconference game against in-state foe Wilberforce University. This is the first of 11 home contests for the Storm this season, including two this week.

A LOOK BACK: The Storm posted an 11-16 record as a Division II independent last season, against a schedule that was one of the toughest in the country. Lake Erie won five of its last six games, with the only loss coming against eventual national runner-up IUP in the season finale.

EXHIBITION TOUR: For the first time in school history, the Storm took an international preseason trip to Ontario, Canada in October for a pair of exhibition games against Canadian universities. Lake Erie lost to the University of Guelph, 87-74, and McMaster University, 87-78. The NCAA allows teams to take foreign trips for exhibition competition once every four years.

BRADSHAW ACCOLADES: After being named to the All-Independent Team last season, senior guard Ethan Bradshaw was tabbed as a GLIAC Preseason All-South Division Second Team selection by the league coaches. Bradshaw led the team in scoring last year, averaging 16 points per game.

THE OPPOSITION POSITION: Wilberforce returns four players from a team that posted a 9-20 overall record last season and was 3-13 in the NAIA American Mideast Conference. The Bulldogs are 1-1 on the year.
