Storm Players Lend a Hand at WDOK Rainbow Radiothon (With Video)

PAINESVILLE, OHIO -- Several members of the Lake Erie College football team, along with offensive coordinator Jerry Hazzard and his wife Emily, volunteered at the annual WDOK Rainbow Radiothon Friday morning (Dec. 9) at University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital in Cleveland.

The Storm players worked the phone bank from 6-8 a.m. and were part of the group that raised the most money in that time frame in the event's history.

The student-athletes participating and volunteering their time are fifth-year senior defensive lineman Mike Robare (South Euclid, Ohio/Brush),junior defensive lineman Taylor Leppla (Cambridge, Ohio/Cambridge), junior kicker Sam Marcotte (Chardon, Ohio/Chardon), sophomore defensive lineman Ben Bryan (Carrollton, Ohio/Carrollton), sophomore offensive lineman Brian Standiford (Cambridge, Ohio/Cambridge), sophomore quarterback Brendan Gallagher (Aurora, Ohio/Aurora) and freshman quarterback Ryan Bitzer (Chagrin Falls, Ohio/Orange).
