Storm Football to Host Youth Day/Take a Kid to the Game Saturday vs. Findlay

PAINESVILLE, OHIO -- The Lake Erie College football team will hold its third annual Youth Day celebration Saturday, Oct. 22, when the Storm hosts the University of Findlay in a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) contest at Jack Britt Memorial Stadium at 1 p.m.  The promotion is part of the NCAA's Take a Kid to the Game program.

All area youth football players will be admitted free to the game by wearing their youth team jersey. All other kids ages 14-and-under will receive a free ticket for admission with the purchase of a full-priced adult general admission ticket.

Also, for the third year in a row, all kids aged 14-and-under will be treated by the Lake Erie Department of Athletics and the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) to a "Trick-or-Treat on the Track" at halftime of the game.  Added events include face painting and photos with the Lake Erie College mascot, Stormy.

"We really look forward to having kids from the surrounding communities come out and be part of our gameday experience," said Storm head coach Mark McNellie.  "The day is an opportunity for children to spend quality time with a parent or role model and learn about sportsmanship and the fundamentals of college football in a fun, family-oriented atmosphere.  We have had a great turnout each year and hope to have a great crowd again this year."

The Take A Kid to the Game program is one of the national promotions of NCAA Football, the marketing arm of college football.  NCAA Football represents a coalition of the American Football Coaches Association, Collegiate Commissioners Association, Football Bowl Association, National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics, National Collegiate Athletic Association and the National Football Foundation.
