Baseball Travels to Hillsdale for G-MAC Series (Preview)

PAINESVILLE, Ohio – The Lake Erie College baseball team resumes Great Midwest play with a three games series on the road at Hillsdale College. The series with the Chargers will begin on Saturday (April 28) with a DH at 1:00 PM. The weekend will conclude on Sunday (April 29) with a 1:00 PM game.

Storm Report: Lake Erie is 13-22-1 overall this season and 11-10 in the G-MAC. The Storm dropped back-to-back non-conference games at Notre Dame and Gannon this week. Trace Peterson (Medina, Ohio / Medina) leads the Storm with a .317 batting average, 29 runs, 39 hits, eight homeruns and 24 RBI. David Lemasters (Cortland, Ohio / Lakeview) leads the pitching staff with a 2.93 ERA, 46 innings and 58 strikeouts.

Opposition Position: Hillsdale is 19-23 overall and 15-6 in Great Midwest games. The Chargers defeated Siena Heights 13-11 in a non-conference matchup. Steven Ring leads Hillsdale with 50 hits, 13 doubles, 11 homeruns and 40 RBI.

Series History: Lake Erie is 14-8 against the Chargers in the series with both teams playing in the GLIAC. Hillsdale won three of four games in the split home and home series last season.

Storm Forecast: Lake Erie will travel to Fairmont State on Monday (April 30) at 12:00 PM for a doubleheader.
