Baseball To Face Cedarville in Mason, Ohio (Preview)

PAINESVILLE, Ohio – The Lake Erie College baseball team will continue Great Midwest play with a doubleheader against the Cedarville University Yellow Jackets on Friday (March 16). Instead of playing at Classic Park, the doubleheader has been moved to Prasco Park in Mason, Ohio with a start time of 1:00 PM.

Storm Report: Lake Erie is 4-8-1 this season after the Storm swept Ohio Valley on Tuesday (March 13) in a doubleheader. Lake Erie used a six-run fifth inning to win the opener 8-6. The Storm followed with three homeruns, including a go-ahead, two-run blast in the eighth inning as they defeated Ohio Valley 5-4 in the second game. Trace Peterson (Medina, Ohio / Medina) had two homeruns as a part of his four hits on the day.

Opposition Position: Cedarville is 4-8 so far this season going into their G-MAC opener. They defeated Paine by an 8-2 final score on Saturday (March 10). Bryce Hughes leads the Yellow Jackets with a .340 batting average and 17 hits.

Series History: The two teams have met once before in the series history. Lake Erie defeated the Yellow Jackets 13-8 in Florida back in 2011.

Storm Forecast: Lake Erie will host Gannon on Wednesday (March 21) at Classic Park for a doubleheader, starting at 1:00 PM.
